About Me
I have lived in Lino Lakes since 2010. I moved from neighboring Lexington MN to start and raise my family shortly after getting married. I grew up just south of Lino Lakes in Arden Hills.
I have been married to my wife Lisa for 10 years, with a son and daughter who both attend school in the Centennial School District. We are members of Eagle Brook Church and my family enjoys fishing, camping, snowmobiling, four wheeling, boating, time with our many pets and making memories at our family cabin. I enjoy gardening, reading, watching movies, and tending to my fruit orchard. My family and I own 2 rental properties where we perform all of our own maintenance and management. I enjoy fixing anything and have been a life-long handy man. I love the open spaces in Lino Lakes and enjoy utilizing the many parks with my family and Golden Retriever. I ride on the snowmobile trails in the winter, canoe/kayak down the Rice Creek Water Trail in the summer, and fish in the lakes year round.
I think Lino Lakes is a spectacular place to live and raise a family. I would use my time as a City Council member to keep our community safe, thriving, and full of green spaces for our residents to enjoy year round. I feel my skills as a listener could be put to good use on the City council where I would have the opportunity to hear both sides of an issue and make the best decision for the residents of Lino Lakes. I do not believe in obstructing others and have been trained in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques, which I feel would be of great benefit during discussions where others are passionate about a particular resolution.
Education:
Graduated from Mounds View Senior High 1996.
Bachelors of Science – Mankato State University 2002, Psychology major, Speech Communications minor.
Masters of Science – University of Wisconsin Stout 2006, in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from MN School of Professional Psychology 2013, in Clinical Psychology.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in MN.
Career:
I have spent the last 16 years providing therapy to a wide variety of people from all different backgrounds who want to work on improving their mental heath and advancing their ability to make positive decisions. I specialize in working with troubled youth and young adults who are in difficult places in life. I have focused my career on getting individuals who are hard to reach to open up about their anger and help them see things from a different and more positive, productive perspective. I currently provide outpatient services to individuals, couples, and families at my own private practice as well as a large agency I have worked at for 14 years. I also supervise interns and other therapists who are gaining hours towards licensure.
